Gilford-Rita D. (Fahey) Betti, 80, 72 Sanborn Road died Friday evening, January 27, 2006 surrounded by her family at her residence.
Rita was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Flaherty) Fahey. She was born in South Boston on September 23, 1925 where she was raised and schooled. She lived in Randolph, MA for over 30 years before making her home in Gilford in 1987.
Prior to her retirement Rita worked as a cook for many years within the Randolph School System. Rita truly enjoyed helping the children at school in any way she could. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her family.
Rita is survived by her husband of 59 years, Enrico H. Betti of Gilford. One son, Enrico J. Betti and his wife Gina of Sutton, MA. Three daughters, Jean Rappoli and her husband Paul of Rockport, MA, Joan McMorrow and her husband John of Millis, MA, and Lois Paquin and her husband David of Rochester, MA. Two brothers, John Fahey and his wife Jane of Randolph, MA and Kenneth Fahey and his wife Nancy also of Randolph, MA. Two sisters, Margaret Jones of Randolph, MA and Elaine Moccia and her husband Donald of Brockton, MA. Rita is also survived by ten grandchildren, Paul, Maria, Peter, John, Joseph, Joan, Michelle, Chris, Laura, and Tyler. 12 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday January 31, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, 1350 Union Avenue, Laconia. Visiting were Monday January 30, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
