Laura A. (Puckarski) Masiel, a longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of the West End of Boston, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at The Katzman Family Center For Living in Chelsea. She was 88 years of age.
Laura was born in Boston on September 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Puckarski. She grew up in the West End of Boston where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Laura worked in the food service industry for many years at H.P. Hood Company in Charlestown and the cafeteria for Massachusetts General Hospital. Following her retirement, Laura became a Foster Grandparent for Catholic Charities which she took great pride and enjoyed. In her spare time, Laura enjoyed cooking and playing bingo.
Laura is the beloved wife of the late John M. Masiel. She is the devoted mother of Donna Mainey and her partner Alfred Duggan, Kenneth Masiel and the late Michael J. Masiel. She is the loving Bubchi to Michael Mainey and his wife Jessica, Nicole Mainey, Ryan Mainey and his wife McKenzie, Jarid Masiel and her great-grandchildren Nathan Mainey, Noah Smith and Greyson Mainey. She is the beloved sister of Stanley Picarski and the late Mary Dimitryk and Stephania Barrossi. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Laura's Funeral on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
