New Bedford – Carla M. Farias, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on November 27th. She is the loving daughter of Amarino and Judite Tavares of New Bedford.
Carla was born on March 22, 1965 in Mocuba District of Zambezia Province in Mozambique
and immigrated to the United States in 1976 with her parents and siblings. Carla worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. Her passions included spending time with her family and pets, and helping others.
Carla is preceded in death by her father, Amarino, her dog Sheeba and her cat Twilight. She is survived by her mother, Judite Tavares of New Bedford; her children, Teryn Catherine Gianunzio and her husband Robert, her son Brandon Farias and his wife Amber, and her son Aaron “Jon” Farias and his partner Sara Goulart, all of New Bedford; her two grandchildren Sophie Marie and Sebastian Farias, and her grand-dog Ember, of New Bedford; her sister Marina Tavares of Taunton, and her brother Joseph Tavares and his wife Lenore of New Bedford; her nephew and godson Joshua Morgado and his wife Nilia of New Bedford, her niece Chloe Morgado of Taunton; and her partner Robert Mello of New Bedford.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
