Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 11am. Burial in South Easton Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday 4-7pm. Grace L. (Chillingworth) Correia died Friday at her home in South Easton after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Easton, she had been a life long resident. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Lillian (Sackett) Chillingworth, and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School, Class of 1947. Grace had been employed over the years by the RM Bradley Real Estate firm in Boston, the North Easton Savings Bank and John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Brockton. After raising her children she returned to work and was employed at the Jordan Marsh store in South Shore Plaza and for 18 years had been employed at the Division of Employment Security in Brockton, retiring as an interviewer in 1992. She was a devoted grandmother, enjoyed listening to music, playing the organ, dancing, shopping, and day trips with friends.
She is survived by her husband John J. Correia, one son John W. “Jack” Correia of Bridgewater, one daughter Susan J. Beattie of East Bridgewater, four grandchildren Sarah and Michael Correia of Bridgewater and Ryan and Adam Beattie of East Bridgewater, two sisters Harriet Carpenter of Seekonk and Helen Tibbetts of Brockton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gertrude Chillingworth, Marion Scheffer, Ruth Taylor and Genevieve Morin.
