Obituary

Limerick - Edward L. Harmon, 76, of Limerick died on November 28, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a courageous battle with cancer He was born in Portland on February 28, 1943 a son of Raymond and Emelene (Gammon) Harmon, and was educated in Steep Falls and Limington Schools. He married Jacqueline Paradis on October 10, 1964.

Edward worked over 40 years for F.R. Carroll Inc. in Limerick. He was a truck driver as well as performing many other duties over the years. He had many hobbies in his spare time, but the most important were tinkering on small engines, taking care of his firewood and planting his garden. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, as well as his work family and the entire Limerick community.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Tammy Berry. His brothers: Donald Harmon Sr., Richard Harmon and Raymond Harmon Jr. A sister-in-law, Anna Harmon. Brothers-in-law: Bryant Black, Roger Brulotte, Stanley Norris and Floyd Gilpatrick. Also an infant sister, Natalie June Harmon.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Jacqueline Harmon of Limerick. Three children: Laurie Thyng and significant other Dana Sanborn of Limerick, Carol Anne "Bucky" Oliver and husband Len of Sanford, and David Harmon of Parsonsfield. A brother, Russell "Joe" Harmon and wife Sarah of Limerick. Three sisters: Barbara Gilpatrick of Limerick, Gertrude Norris of Limington, and Lois Black of Limington. A brother-in-law, Richard Paradis and wife Amy of Limerick. A sister-in-law, Theresa Paradis of Limerick. A sister-in-law, Donna Harmon of Florida. 13 grandchildren: Carrie, Michael, Karen, Josh, Cherisse, Leanne, Brittany, Jasmine, Katelyn, Kayla, Grace, Christopher and Samuel. 11 great grandchildren: Austin, Dwight, Lily, Haleigh, Gabriel, Savannah, Carley, Olivia, Lydia, Ivy and Preston Edward. Also many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish. A funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 6, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at East Parsonsfield Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.mainefuneral.com
