Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 9 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at 10:45 am. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Michael’s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
Obituary
Mr. Ruccolo died Friday morning at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Brockton, a son of the late Pardo and Maria (DiMarzo) Ruccolo. He had been life long resident of Brockton and attended Brockton Schools. During WW II he served in the US Army, 35th Infantry Division, 137th Regiment Company B and was awarded the Bronze Star. Before his entry into military service he was a welder at Fore River Shipyard and Hingham Shipyard, after his discharge he returned to the Fore River Shipyard as a welder until 1961, retiring from Mass Engineering in Avon. He was a member of the Mitchell Club of Middleboro.
He enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.
He is survived by a son, Ronald A. Ruccolo and his wife Cathy of Acushnet, three grandchildren, Cathy, Kellie and Ryan Ruccolo, and a sister Nicolena “Nicky” Smith.
He also leaves his companion Dorothy Sullivan of Brockton
He was the husband of the late Irene (Reposa) Ruccolo, father of the late Michael Ruccolo, Jr., grandfather of the late Mary Ruccolo and brother of the late Mary Nicholson, John and Sue Ruccolo.
