Virginia B. (Ouellette) Hamelin, 79, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at her home. She was born in Lowell, MA on October 20, 1940, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Loretta (Maher) Ouellette. She worked for Raytheon for over 30 years, retiring as a buyer for the company. Virginia was very active in the Grand Estates Senior Living Community in Londonderry where she played bingo, cards and liked to decorate. She enjoyed staying active, exercising and walking one mile every day. She also enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Virginia loved spending summers at her camp at the beach in Wells, ME.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Semaski of Londonderry, and Susan Hamelin of Dracut, MA; two granddaughters, Megan Heinstrom of NJ and Jillian Semaski of Londonderry; two sisters, Jackie Honan and Jeanine Marcotte; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Hamelin in 1999.
A calling hour was held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 9 – 10 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes foundation.
