Obituary

Gladys Johnson Durrance, 88, of Tallahassee, Florida, died January 25, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Tallahassee, with interment following in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Friday evening at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel.

Mrs. Durrance was born September 13, 1917 in Linden, North Carolina to the late George and Pearl Langston Johnson. She lived in Sopchoppy before moving to Tallahassee in 1949. Mrs. Durrance was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tallahassee, where she was a Training Union teacher, a member of the couples class and past-president of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Tallahassee Women’s Club.

Mrs. Durrance is survived by her daughters: Judy Ann Stone of Fitzgerald, Lori Elizabeth Guido and Gladys Nanette Barber, both of Tallahassee; grandchildren: Eric Stone of Fitzgerald, Kevin Stone of Tifton, Chad Barber of Boca Raton, FL, Jordan Barber, Paden Barber, Jason Guido and Brett Guido, all of Tallahassee and Marie Guido of New York City; great-grandchildren: Parker Stone and Madelyn Stone, of Fitzgerald, Jayla Guido of Tallahassee and Jakson Barber of Boca Raton.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Durrance.
