Richard O. Laterreur, 59 passed away on Nov. 17, 2019. He was born June 18, 1960 in Springfield, a son of the late Gilles A. Laterreur and Madelainne R. (Brouillard) Rappleyea. Richard served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by West side Wheel & Frame and Hyder's safety-service as an auto mechanic for 30 years. He enjoyed restoring vehicles, as well as attending and displaying his work at car/truck shows. Richard was an all-around hard worker and could fix just about anything he laid his hands on. He took great pride in the projects inside his home and outside in his yard/gardens. He is survived by his two sons, Ricky and Adam of Longmeadow; his beloved granddaughter, Gianna and his sisters, Terry Denehy-Laterreur of Spfld. and Elaine Gelinas of FL. Richard also leaves many other extended siblings, family members and friends who will miss him. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to his family for services.
