Obituary

GRANBY – Claire G. (Boisjolie) Archambault, 87, of Granby, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Vero Health and Rehab in South Hadley surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 16, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Eugene J. and Gladys (Stefanski) Boisjolie and had lived in Granby since 1957. For many years, Claire and her husband, Gerry were winter residents of Fort Myers, Florida. She was employed for many years at Witt Equipment Company in South Hadley and last worked as a manager at Southworth Machinery in Springfield. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby where she volunteered for many years as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Teacher. During her leisure time, Claire enjoyed gardening, playing the accordion, playing bingo at the Elks and dancing with her late husband, Gerry. She was predeceased by her loving son, Raymond G. Archambault who was Called Home on July 30, 2004; and her beloved husband and best friend, Gerard A. “Gerry” Archambault who was Called Home on April 28, 2017. They were married on November 19, 1955 at the former Rosary Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. She leaves her devoted son, Richard G. Archambault and his wife, Kathy, of Villa Hills, KY; her two cherished grandchildren, Rachel Archambault and R.J. Archambault and his fiancée, Meghan Reed; her two cherished great-granddaughters, Kalani Archambault and Everly Archambault; her two dear brothers, Richard Boisjolie and his wife, Bernie, of Chicopee and William Boisjolie and his wife, Theresa, of South Hadley; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, son and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Eugene Boisjolie, Jr. and his wife, Rita. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
