WEBSTER – Edna Gertrude (Dojan) Rivers, 91, left this life peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 and started her next journey. Her beloved husband of 40 years, Leonard W. Rivers, died in 2003.
She was born in Webster on August 28, 1928, the daughter of Carl W. and Gertrude (Martin) Dojan and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society.
Edna worked as an executive secretary at the American Optical Company in Southbridge and retired from the Warner Lambert Company. She belonged to the American Optical Quarter Century Club.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church all her life.
She leaves her sister, Norma Peterson and her husband George; her nephew, Carl W. Dojan and his wife Tara; her niece, Carol Piano and her husband Tim; her great-nephew, William Dojan and his wife Carissa; and many friends. She also leaves her beloved kitty Minou. Her brother Earl Dojan died in 2017.
Services were held privately. Donations in her name may be made to either the Community Cat Connection, Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570 or to Zion Lutheran Church, 70 South Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
