Born on June 15, 1950, in Dingwall, in the highlands of Scotland, Gordon spent his early life on a farm. The son of Duncan Campbell MacCallum, a horseman, and Christina Isabel MacCallum (nee Morris), he was actively involved in farm life. As a young boy, he fondly remembered ringing the bell for his grandfather, the town crier, and was particularly close with his maternal grandmother. A bright student, Gordon earned many awards at Pitcalnie Primary School and an academy in Aberfeldy.

After high school, Gordon served briefly in both the British Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, where he met his ex-wife, Sandra. They lived abroad in New Zealand and traveled through Australia and parts of Asia before returning to England, to have their children.

Gordon worked for many years in finance, first at a bank and then in credit, advancing his way up to a credit manager, serving for over 15 years with Parker’s of Leeds. Gordon had a reputation for honesty, integrity, and efficiency.

He moved to the US in 1999 to be closer to his children, and in his retirement, was driving for Drummond’s Livery Service.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and following them in all of their sports and activities, often seen on the sidelines.

Gordon also enjoyed traveling and saw much of the US and England in his lifetime. He was an avid Formula One, PBS, BBC and crime show watcher, and one of his favorite pastimes included planning how he would spend the millions if he ever won the lottery.
