Obituary

Linda J. (Flammini) Lacey, a resident of Melrose and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 71 years of age.

Linda was born in Winthrop on June 1, 1948, a daughter of the late Antonio J. Flammini and Lillian M. (Ciampa) Flammini. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1966. She continued her education by taking classes at UMass Boston. Linda worked for 40 years as a social worker in nursing homes, for Project Cope, and for substance abuse programs. She was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolgirls and a former member of the Kennedy Center. Linda was the founder of Charlestown Against Drugs(C.H.A.D.), and Alateen. She was a friend of Bill W.

Linda is the beloved wife of 52 years to Michael D. Lacey. She is the devoted mother of Melissa Darrah, Michael Lacey Jr., and Heather Lacey. She is the loving Nana to William, Briana, Michael, Maureen, Kyle, Kiley, Kassidy, Patrick, Alyssa, Makala, Graham, Nkeema, Jordan, and Stephan. She is the beloved sister of Jeanne Tobin, Roberta DiGangi, Donna Napolitano and her husband Al, Lillian Doherty and her husband Danny, and the late Janice Burker. Linda is the loving daughter-in-law of Elvie Lacey. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Linda's Funeral on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
