Yvonne J. Lacouture, 72, of Woonsocket died Sunday November 3, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John H. Lacouture of North Carolina.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Doris (Pelland) Dupuis. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life. She also lived in North Carolina for a short while.
Yvonne was employed in the local textile industry and was also a warehouse worker. Additionally she worked at Debbie’s Dog Salon on Front St. in Woonsocket.
Yvonne was resident of Chateau Clare. She liked to play bingo and volunteered as a bingo caller. Through thick-and-thin, in-season and out, win or lose, Yvonne was staunch member of Red Sox Nation. She was talented at cross-stitch. She was a supporter of Camp Ker-Anna. Yvonne’s hunt for a bargain knew no bounds and she spent countless hours frequenting yard sales, flea markets and bazaars.
Yvonne was a friendly and outgoing person. She was a happy and loving soul who cared for everyone. Throughout her life she carried a small bit of the always positive glass half-full sunshine somewhere outlook from the days of her youth. You could say Yvonne was still a Hippie – you’d be correct! She loved music and as a matter of face Rock-and-Roll was the soundtrack of Yvonne’s life. To let loose and dance was right up Yvonne’s alley – who cares who’s watching – join in the fun!
Yvonne will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. Her children were the focus of her life. Her furry friend and faithful companion “Baby Girl”, ever by her side, brought Yvonne constant joy and comfort.
Yvonne was the proud mother of Erik J. Russo and his fiancé Laura Carbone of North Providence, Stacy D. Nasisi and her fiancé Keith Theroux of Woonsocket, Crystal Lacouture-Edwards and her late husband Jesse Edwards IV of East Greenwich and Corrin Aguillard and her husband Corey of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was the sister of Pauline Deslaurier of Woonsocket, William "Bill" Dupuis and his wife Katherine of Cumberland, Linda Leblanc of Woonsocket, James Dupuis and his wife Diane of Manville and Edward Dupuis of Blackstone and the late Janice Ross. Yvonne is also survived by her grandchildren (whom she just simply adored!!!) DJ, Mariano, Santino, Salvatore, Gianna, Cole, Caroline, David. Rosie and Owen, a great- grandchild (with another on the way soon!!!) and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to *********************.
