Lehan R. Power, Jr, 74

Lehan R. Power, Jr. died on 10/30/19 after a long illness. He was born in Cambridge, MA , first born son of a family of six boys, of the late Gertrude and Lehan Power. He was predeceased by brothers Brian, Kevin, and Edward Power. He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Kramer, hIs brothers, James Power and John Power, sisters-in-law Ann, Sue, Cheryl and Maura Power, and Judy Casey, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lehan grew up in Arlington, MA and attended Northeastern University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He was awarded a second B.S. degree in Food and Resource Economics at Umass, Amherst and a M.Ed. degree from Elmira College in Elmira, NY. He served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1969-72, when he was stationed in Regensburg, Germany as commander of a Hawk Missile unit with a complement of 160 men. On his return to MA he met his future wife of 41 years, Leslie Kramer. They moved to northeastern PA, where Lehan worked for Penn State University and retired after 25 years as a Regional Extension Director, specializing in Farm Financial Management. After retirement, Lehan and Leslie moved to Cape Cod to be closer to family and the ocean. Lehan was an avid reader, fisherman, and gardener and he and Leslie went on many wonderful trips throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Africa.

Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Broad Reach Hospice and Wingate in Harwich for their care and comfort at the end of his life.
