Rosa Young Ellis, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Pine Level United Methodist Church in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Dan Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Mrs. Ellis was born July 2, 1936, in Irwin County, Georgia to the late William & Louise Troup Young. She lived in the community all of her life. She was a homemaker and also worked for Darsey Oil Company and several factories. Mrs. Ellis enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and loved her grandkids. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, J.R. Ellis of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Brenda & Gary Willis of Albany; five grandchildren: Rosalyn “Dee” Eidson, Brody Willis, Michael & Christie Willis, Steve Willis and Glenn Ellis; eight great-grandchildren; a brother Tommy & Jean Carol Young of Osierfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Ellis; four brothers and two sisters.
