HALIFAX - Roy M. Seitsinger Sr., 79, of Halifax, formerly of Abington, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Martin) Seitsinger for more than 50 years.
Born Aug. 2, 1926, in Boston, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Charlotte (Webster) Seitsinger and a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School for Boys.
Mr. Seitsinger had been a resident of Halifax for the past six years, coming from Abington, where he resided for 40 years.
He was an electrical engineer at Raytheon in Waltham for 38 years.
Mr. Seitsinger was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and received the Bronze Service Medal.
He was formerly an active member of Dudley St. Baptist Church in Roxbury.
Mr. Seitsinger enjoyed science, math and cards.
He is survived by his children, Roy Jr. of N. Kingstown, R.I., Robert of Pflugerville, TX, Roger Mark of Stoughton, Linda Sample of Abington, Sandy Horan of Webster, TX, and Lisa Olson of Norton; a sister, Marianne Coughlin of Malden. Also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Family will be conducting services in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Thursday at 7 p.m. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 pm.
