TEWKSBURY: Dorothy M. (Austin) Ducharme, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Radius Northwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lowell.
She was the wife of Roger R. Ducharme, who died February 8, 2005.
Born in Lowell, on June 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Jane (Wilson) Austin.
Mrs. Ducharme was raised in Lowell.
She attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell Vocational School.
In 1956, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury.
Mrs. Ducharme dedicated her life to caring for her family.
She enjoyed many activities and interests especially reading mystery novels.
Mrs. Ducharme is survived by two sons; Roger J. Ducharme and his wife Wendy (Wright) of Chelmsford and Marcel R. Ducharme and his wife Theresa (Cardone) of South Lawrence; two daughters; Jane D. Kirkland and her husband Donald N. Kirkland, Jr. of Derry, NH and Rachel D. Ducharme of Lowell; three grandchildren; Donald N. Kirkland, III, Dawn Ducharme Kelly and Kimblery Ducharme; one great granddaughter; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ducharme was the mother of the late Alvin G. Ducharme and sister of the late Elliot Austin, Lillian Stanulonis and Warren Austin.
Calling hours Thursday morning, January 26th from 10-11 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 are requested.
