Barbara "Bobbie" Drake Sibbet died Saturday, January 21, 2006. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Tifton. Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Randy James, Frank Walker, Jason Caperton, Scott Caperton, Trey Kimberl, Will James and Justin Walker will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Runelle Branch, the Mary Youmans Sunday School Class and the Adult Baptist #2 Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 26, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Ms. Sibbet was born on January 5, 1927 in Ellenton, FL. She was the daughter of George L. Drake and Katie Lou Lane Drake, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Mellor Sibbet, who died in 2000; 3 brothers, Geroge Drake, James Drake and Earl Drake; and one sister, Sarah Drake. Ms. Sibbet was a homemaker and an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a member of Mary Youmans Sunday School Class and served as Hospitality Chairman for the church. She was also a member of the Azalea Garden Club, the 20th Century Library Club, the Baldwin Woman's Club, Book Bridge Club, ABAC Bridge Club and the Leroy Rogers Senior Citizen Center Bridge Group.
Ms. Sibbet is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law: Jeanne Caperton of Millbrook, AL, Marilyn Kimberl of Mobile, AL, Sandy and Frank Walker of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Edith and Randy James of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Kaye Biggs of Orlando, FL; 8 grandchildren, Jason Caperton, Scott Caperton, Brooke Budney, Justin Walker, Courtney Kimberl, Trey Kimberl, Lauren James and Will James; and her beloved dog, "CiCi".
