Obituary

David Charles Mann, 70, died Sunday, October 20th, 2019. He was the husband of Linda Ingrid (Anderson) Mann. They had been married for 38 years.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Lincoln James and Catherine Ann (Hickey) Mann. He had lived in Nashua NH and Cranston RI before making his home in Smithfield RI. David served his country as an Army medic in the Vietnam War, where his acts of heroism earned him 2 Bronze Star Medals as well a Purple Heart for wounds recieved in action. David had worked for many years as a house painter.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Mann and his grandchildren Kaylee Poirier and Joseph Barney of Smithfield, his step-sons, Joseph Schiavone of Naples, FL, James Schiavone of Providence, and Michael Schiavone of Glocester as well as his grandchildren, Joe Adams, Christopher and Joanna and Michael Schiavone, Maya and Collin Schiavone and several great grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Dennis Mann of Smithfield, Donald Mann of Johnston, Allen Mann of Wakefield and Daniel Mann of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brenda Matteson of North Providence, Gloria Mann of Cranston, Kathy Bordeleau of Johnston, Cynthia Alpaio of Cranston, Roberta Grimaldi of Woonsocket and Linda Porrazzo of The Villages, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and the many others who knew him as "Papa Dave". He was the brother of the late Marvin S. Mann, the uncle of the late Terence A. Mann.
Visitation will be held on held Saturday from 12pm to 2pm in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. Funeral Service and Burial will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
