WORCESTER- Jane B. (Karbowski) Ciborowski, 96, of Leicester, formerly of Fairfax Rd., died Saturday, January 21, surrounded by her loving son & grandchildren, at St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband, Chester Ciborowski died November, 1962.
She leaves a son, Edward Ciborowski and his wife Janet of Worcester; four sisters, Hedwig Kopcinski or Spencer, Charlotte Shilalie of Manchester, NH, Therese Witkowski of Auburn, and Joanne Morrissey of Worcester; a son-in-law, Normand Lajoie; a sister-in-law, Sally Karbowski of Auburn; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. Her daughter, Barbara Lajoie, died in 1993. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward and John Karbowski, and a sister, Louise Siminski. Jane was born in Wegrzynow, Poland, the daughter of John and Julia (Karczmarczyk) Karbowski, coming to the United States in 1912.
Mrs. Ciborowski was a saleswoman in the china department at Denholm & McKay Store before retiring. She was devoted to her family and loved to crochet. She attended St. Mary’s School and was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 24, from HENRY DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
