Arthur E. Ireland, of Hyannis, formerly of Wellesley, passed peacefully on October 9, 2019. He was a man of humor and songs, each one bursting with the kind of heartfelt sentiment those who knew him cannot forget.
He is survived by his children Karen, Patricia, Stephen, Deborah, and Caitlin, 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is blessed to join the love of his life, Alma Teresa, and his sons Michael, William, and Brian, along with grandchildren Adria and Brian, and great grandson Jordan, in the next life. He was a mentor, confidant and role model to many.
Affectionately known to most as “Bebo,” Arthur adored Boston sports, golf, Frank Sinatra, and his family. He served proudly in the United States Army, and worked for over 40 years at Raytheon Corporation. As we fondly recall his boisterous jaunts and shameless affection, his family urges all who read this, to appreciate each other, and sing proudly of the love we have.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16) Wellesley on Thursday, October 17, from 12-1pm followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
