Obituary

Hugo R. Meotti, 91, formerly of Crawford St. Woonsocket died Thursday at Bayberry Commons in Pascoag. He was the loving husband of the late Constance C. (Biron) Meotti. They were married on April 15, 1950 and shared 67 years together until she passed away on their anniversary in 2017.
Born and raised in Bellingham he was a son of the late Otto and Beatrice (Lachapelle) Meotti. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life.
Mr. Meotti served in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS Indiana and USS Oklahoma City. He attained the rank of Seaman 1st Class and received the Victory Medal, American Area Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal with 1 Star.
Hugo was employed at Whittins Machine Works in Whitinsville, MA for many years. He later worked for Premier Thread Company in Lincoln before retiring.
Hugo enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a daughter Nancy M. Buckley and her husband Edward of North Attleboro. He was the father of the late Ronald M. Meotti. He was the brother of the late Otto Jr., Clark, and Robert Meotti, Lola Anderson and Gloria Bonino. He is also survived by his granddaughters Amy and Allison Buckley, great-grandsons Anthony and Zachary and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was the grandfather of the late Anthony Meotti.
His funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home. 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services.
