Grace Evelyn Toth-Fejel, 58, of Ojai California, passed away on October 10, 2019 in Ojai. Grace was born in San Diego California, to Frank and Francine Cherry on January 31, 1961. She attended Granite Hills High School, and graduated in 1979. She earned an Associate of Arts degree at Grossmont Community College in San Diego and a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at San Jose State University. She worked as an occupational therapist in North San Diego County, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties. She simultaneously worked as an Occupational Therapy Director and Primary Hand Therapist at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Later in her career, she worked in Home Health and with clients with Low Vision. As an occupational therapist, she maintained Advanced Practice Certifications in Hand Therapy and Physical Agent Modalities, and was a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner. She and her occupational therapist husband were co-published in peer-reviewed national occupational therapy journals, and state occupational therapy associations. They also co-taught kinesiotaping presentations at the University Southern California. Her passions later in life included medicinal herbs, wellness, alternative therapies, and nutraceutical medicine. She informally helped numerous friends with their rehabilitation needs.
Grace is survived by her husband, George of Ojai, California; her sons, Francis and Bryce, as well as her brothers and sisters: Frank, James, Howard, Michael, Patrick, Marianne, Albert, Tom, Stanley, Judy, George, Marilouise. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank; her mother, Maxine; and her brother, David.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Community (Ojai), especially the Bereavement Ministry, St. Augustine Academy (Ventura), Ventura County Sheriff Explorer program, Medical Therapy Unit of program of California Childrens Services, extended family and friends too numerous to mention, who have supported us through this time.
A Mass of Resurrection is October 18, 2019 11 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Community (Ojai). Rosary at 10:30 am, with Fr. Peter Gelfer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura CA.
