Donald J. McAlister, 85, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness. He was born in Orange, NJ on April 23, 1934, a son of the late William and Elizabeth (O'Mullen) McAlister, and was a resident of Londonderry. Don was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and served our Country in the US Air Force as a Captain. As a Civil Engineer and Executive Vice President, Don traveled the world extensively to include China, Egypt, Korea & the Philippines, to name a few. He took great pride & strongly believed that if you do a job you do it right & his work ethic was second to none. In his leisure time he loved fishing and boating & was forever looking to catch “The Big One”
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Pathe) McAlister of Londonderry; three daughters, Joan M. Campo, Colleen P. Brenner, and Louann Gentiluomo, all of Londonderry; three sons, William P. McAlister of Newtown, PA, Donald J. McAlister of Cambridge, MA, and Owen T. McAlister of Londonderry; 21 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Shelia Sullivan of KY, and Maureen Berrigan of MD; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, William McAlister, Elizabeth Burns, Harriet Hartdorn and Kathleen Brigham.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 14th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Ave., Derry.
