PROVIDENCE – Luisa A. Pina, of Fall River, age 78, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2019 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Januario C. Pina. Born in Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late João and Maria (Raposo) Almeida. Prior to retirement Luisa worked at Whaling MFG for many years. She was an active parishioner at Good Shepherd.
Luisa is survived by her children Michael Pina (wife Heidi) of Fall River and Luisa Rochester (companion John Eira) of Fall River; grandchildren Michael W. A. Pina Jr. and Nicholas J. Rochester; siblings Joe Almeida, Marianna Miranda, Maria Vincent, Antone Almeida and Margaret Fernandes. She was predeceased by her brother John Almeida.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday, October 12th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
