Obituary

Susan Eva Wichers, age 79, entered into her rest at her home in Prosser on October 5, 2019. She was born on December 7, 1939 to George Perry and Jeanette (Schoonover) Kirkpatrick in Everett, Washington. She was raised and educated in West Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High in 1957. After her marriage to Knut Hansen the couple made their home in Seward, Alaska. She later married Emmitt Lee Hill in Seward. Susan ultimately found the love of her life, Lester Wichers, and they married on November 24, 1984. The couple made their home in Bothell, Washington until moving to Prosser in 2007. Susan worked in banking, starting in the industry at the age of 18 and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lester and Susan both became licensed ministers of the Universal Church and performed marriages in Washington State for six years.

Susan enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Carie LaMarsh of Prosser, Kathie Morin (Keith) of Kodiak, Alaska, Susan Richardson of Kaiser, Missouri and Teresa Koop (Rod) of Anchorage, Alaska; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Carole Jones of Spokane, Washington; Mazie Braun (Braun) of Seattle, Washington; Nanette Thomas (Mike) of Ocean Shores, Washington and Sally Dougherty (Paul) of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; and brother, Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 12th at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Prosser, Washington. Concluding services and burial will follow at Prosser Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
