Gerald "Jerry" Whorton, 83, of Ocilla passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Gerald "Jerry" was born on June 19, 1936 in Pamlico County, North Carolina to the late Gerald Vause and Anna Mae Hobbs Whorton. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Turner County. Gerald "Jerry" served his country with honor in the United States Army. He also retired from Firestone Tire Company. He was a devoted father, special grandpa, and special caregiver to his wife as well as many other family members.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelia (Tony) McCard of Ashburn; his special caregiver and companion, Carol Ann Paulk and her children Lee (Kim) Busbin and grandson Matt Busbin all of Ocilla.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 7, 2019 graveside at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin, County.
