Salem
Bernadette M. (Begin) Jodoin, 95, a former resident of Salem, passed away at Hathorne Hill in Danvers on Friday, October 4, 2019. She was the devoted wife of the late Ernest R. Jodoin.
Born in Beverly and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (Portelance) Begin. She was a graduate of Ste. Anne School and Salem High School. She first worked for the former CBS Hytron in first in Salem and later in Danvers. Bernadette was employed for 33 years at the Sylvania Loring Avenue plant in Salem, retiring in 1989. Bernadette was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club, the DAV Auxiliary, Chapter 84, the Salem Council on Aging as well as volunteered for the Bedford V.A. Hospital. She was a member of Ste. Anne Parish for many years.
Bernadette is survived by her sister, Gabrielle Morin of Mesa, AZ and her brother, and Oscar Begin of Salem as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Juliette Fischer, Elizabeth Toleos, Claire Begin and Leo & Albert Begin.
Bernadetts’s family would like to thank the staff at Hathorne Hill for the outstanding care and love they gave Bernadette during her two year residence there.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [ Route 114 / 1-A ] Salem, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. to be followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11:15 A.M.
