Richard A. Chouinard, 81, passed away on Sept. 21, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 2, 1938 in Springfield, a son of the late Gustave and Marion (Frenya) Chouinard. He was the longtime owner of Lane Press Inc. in Chicopee before he retired. He was a former member of the Chicopee Fireball Club, Ward 3 Social and Civic Club, a former Hampden County Deputy Sheriff as well as a member of the Chicopee License Commission. He is predeceased by his loving wife Eileen (Breton) Chouinard. He is survived by his son Richard Chouinard of California; 2 step sons, Mark Walas and his partner Kimberly Haight of Chicopee and Keith Walas and his wife Dianne of Granby; 1 daughter Pamela Cormier and her husband Michael of Ludlow and a step daughter Debra Rock of North Carolina; 1 sister Barbara Bello of Florida. He also leaves behind many loving Grandchildren as well as 3 Great Grandchildren. Visiting Hours will be held on Sat, Oct 19, 2019 from 3 to 5 pm at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee. Burial will be private.
