Obituary


Louis P. Perreault, 86, of Berlin, passed away on Monday September 30, 2019 at his home. He was born in Berlin on June 21, 1933 the son of George A. and Malvina (Fortier) Perreault and was a lifelong resident. Louis bravely served his country as a Marine. He was a decorated Korean War Veteran, and later retired from the National Guard. He served his community as a Police Commissioner, and was a proud member of the Corporal Richard Demers Detachment Marine Corps League. Louis worked at the paper mill from 1954-92 where he was hired as a laborer, ultimately retiring as the Superintendent of the Kraft Mill.

Louis’s most important service was to his family. He was a model of unconditional love. Louis’s house was open to anyone; many knew his backyard as “the Wood Street Beach”. He was most happy when his house was filled by family, especially his grandchildren. Louis loved supporting his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their interests and endeavors. He had great pride in his family, and his greatest accomplishment was being “Pepere”.

Louis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine Perreault and 7 children, Michael Perreault and his wife Doris, Gerald Perreault and his wife Laurie, Leon Perreault and his wife Carol, Lise Dube and her husband Mark, Rene Perreault and his wife Sue, Carol Laflamme and her husband Paul and Nicky Arguin and her husband Paul. On a nightly basis before bed, Louis would name, in chronological order, all of his grandchildren: Jessica Perreault, Phil Perreault, Amanda DiFilippe, Danny Perreault, Leah Roy, Alyssa Martin, Andrea Turner, Glenn Perreault, Heidi Roy, Jaimie Dewitt, Kyle Laflamme, Andrew Perreault, Luc Perreault, Christopher Perreault, Zachary Perreault, Carly Perreault, Matthew Perreault, Jenna Arguin, Jonathan Perreault, John Arguin and 16 great grandchildren: Travis Mitchel, Mia DiFilippe, Adelyn Perreault, McKenna Kelly, Jack DiFilippe, Caitlin Kelly, Lexi DiFilippe, Tommy Perreault, Dani DeFilippe, Anabel Perreault, Abel Martin, Rafe Perreault, Pepper Turner, Lucien Perreault, Logan Perreault and Sophie Pemberton. Louis is survived by his brother Edgar Perreault and was predeceased by his parents, twelve siblings and one grandson, Danny Perreault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 3, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 PM. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
