Obituary




Leo G. "Skip" Dervishian, Jr., of Medford, passed away at home on Sunday, September 29th, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Leo and Mary (Freitas) Dervishian.

Leo enlisted in the United States Air Force in the summer of 1968, from Boston, serving during the Vietnam War as an Air Traffic Controller before being honorably discharged in the summer of 1972 from Selfridge Air Force base in Michigan.

Skip worked extremely hard, side by side with his loving wife Kim in their family owned liquor store Dorr's, located in Brighton. He was deeply dedicated to providing for his family. When Skip was not working, he enjoyed playing a round of golf, puttering around the house finishing up the house work, enjoying a slice of pizza, and planting the numerous flower's that Kim brought home from the nursery, as well as vacationing at their summer home in York, Maine.

Leo was the beloved husband of Kim (James) Dervishian. He was the devoted father of Kerri Dervishian DiGregorio and Brandon Dervishian, and loving companion of his furry friend Astro. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Friday, October 4th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 8 PM.
