Obituary

CHICOPEE - Camilla M. (Toussaint) Leclerc, 72, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Green River, New Brunswick, Canada on July 30, 1947, a beloved daughter of the late Camille and Rina (Ringuette) Toussaint. She was raised in Canada and settled in the North End section of Springfield in 1963. She was a last employed as a surgical sterilization technician at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in the North End section of Springfield and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She loved tending to her garden and was an amazing cook and specialized in many French-Canadian dishes from her childhood. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her husband, Serge J. Leclerc. They were married on October 23, 1971 at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 47 years together. She also leaves her loving children, Michelle L. Cutler and her husband, Scott, of Port Jefferson Station, NY and Brian D. Leclerc and his partner, Ana Roca, of Chicopee; her two cherished granddaughters, Sydney Cutler and Chloe Leclerc; her four dear sisters, Diane Crasfic and her husband, David, of Westfield, Nancy Toussaint and her partner, Mark Charland, of Pintendre, P.Q., Canada, Brenda Toussaint of Ware, and Irene Remillard and her husband, Lionel, of Chicopee; her dear brother, Allen Toussaint and his wife, Diane, of Springfield; her two dear sisters-in-law, Denise Toussaint of Chicopee and Ghislaine Toussaint of Westfield; her former brother-in-law, Denis D’Amours of Saint Raphael de Bellechasse, P.Q., Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Leclerc and Toussaint families. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her three dear brothers, Clarence, Elmer and Gordon Toussaint and her dear sister, Linda Toussaint. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
