Nila J. Hummel, 83, of Anderson, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, September 21, 2019.
She was born on October 23, 1935 in Frankton, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence and Velma (Stanley) Hughes. She was a life long Madison County resident, residing may years in Chesterfield.
She was employed by Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 23 years. Nila attended Lake Street Baptist Church and was a member of the Gold Wing Riders. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Nila is survived by 4 children; Carla (Mark) Hanson, Cindy (Kent) Hanson, Shelia (Tim) Harris, and David Hummel; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos L. Hummel and son and daughter-in-law, Carl C. and Linda Hummel, and 2 siblings, Leona Flannigan and Gloria Myers.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Ken King officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family an hour before the service on Saturday.
