Obituary

Mrs. Bernice J. (Higham) Potvin, a resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Arthur W. Potvin, passed away at the Prescott House in North Andover on Monday afternoon, September 16, 2019. She was 89 years old.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on April 7, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Antoinette (Bois) Higham. Mrs. Potvin was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Lawrence and Fisher Junior College in Boston. She had been an Executive Secretary for Catholic Charities for several years. In her spare time, Bernice loved to entertain her family and friends, especially for the holiday's. She loved making crafts and cooking pork pies, A devote catholic, she loved angels and butterflies. Above all, she was devoted to her family. Bernice will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving children; Arleen B. and her husband Michael J. Bradley of Lawrence, Paula J. Potvin and her wife Anita J. Huot of Newburyport, Marcia H. and her husband Paul D. Lambert of Lawrence and Alan A. and his wife Kathy A. Potvin of Goffstown, New Hampshire, grandchildren; Kelly and her husband Andrew Henretta, Brian and his wife Izzy Bradley, Grace and Anya Potvin, Victoria and Benjamin Lambert, AJ Potvin and Kasey and MacKenzie Potvin, great-grandchildren; Abigail and Nicholas Bradley and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was also the sister-in-law of Irene Potvin of Lawrence, Walter and his wife Sandy Potvin of Salem, New Hampshire and Betty Potvin of Dennis and sister of the late Kenneth C. Higham.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Council Parish, St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover. Donations in Bernice's memory may be made to the Friends of Hathorne, c/o Hogan Regional Center, P.O.
