Obituary

…retired from Tewksbury Hospital and CVS in Andover; 89
ANDOVER – Rose Susan (Sacco) Dillon, age 89, a resident of Andover for seven decades, died peacefully on Thursday, September 12, at the home of her daughter, in the loving care of her family and her hospice caregiver, Shernett Neil. She was the beloved wife for sixty-eight years of Henry D. “Hank” Dillon, who died on September 10, last year.
She was born in East Boston, the only daughter of Francis and Mary (McCarthy) Sacco, and raised in East Boston. After her marriage, she and Hank moved to Andover to raise their family. In addition to her duties as a mother and wife, she worked at Andover’s CVS pharmacy store, where she was affectionately known as “the smiley lady.” Later, she worked and retired from the Tewksbury Hospital’s data processing department.
Rose always looked forward to making meals for her family and gathering together for the holidays. She spent family vacations at Harris’ Inn Cottages on Harris Pond in Pelham, NH, and in her later years, Rose and her late husband were weekly supporters of the Thursday Tewksbury Knights of Columbus and the Tuesday Tewksbury-Wilmington Bingo nights. In recent years Rose enjoyed the little joys of life like sitting on the deck and watching the humming birds. Rose's smile could light up a room and her kind and generous heart will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of encountering her.
She leaves four adored children, John F. and his wife Dorothy (Gardner) Dillon of North Reading, Paul D. Dillon of Derry, NH, Rosanne C. Dillon and her significant other, David W. Raffa of Templeton, and Susan M. Dillon and her significant other, Nicholas Raimondo of Coral Springs, FL; eight grandchildren, Sean Dillon of No. Reading, Tracey Dillon of East Boston, Michelle Clifton and her husband Charles of No. Chelmsford, Jennifer Dillon of Leominster and her significant other Walter Niemi, Bryanna Payne and Kendra Payne both of Lowell, Jose Marquez and Kimberly Raimondo, both of Coral Springs; a great grandson, Tyler D. Clifton; sister-in-law, Carol A. Isabelle of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Anne C. (Dillon) Roux and her husband Vic, and brother-in-law, Ronald Isabelle.
