Obituary

James L. Conway, 81, of Walpole died September 5 in Norwood Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lillis E. (Cullinane) Conway who died in 2015.

Born in Cambridge, December 12, 1937, the son of the late James and Alena (Finlay) Conway, Mr. Conway was raised in Cambridge and had lived in Walpole for over 50 years.

Mr. Conway had been a custodian at the Norfolk Agricultural School before retiring.

He had previously worked at Kendall Mills in Walpole.
Jim had also owned and operated the Wine Barrell in Walpole.

He had been very active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, traveling and cooking.

Mr. Conway served in the Army during the late 1950’s.

He is survived by his son James L. Conway II of South Walpole.

He is also survived by his step-son, Dean Roberts.

He was the step-father of the late Gene and Herbert Roberts and Deborah Hancock.

He is also survived by his three grandchildren , that he raised, Julie Sampson, Dean Roberts, Jr. and Shauna Roberts.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street Walpole at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
