Anne Stokes Bowers, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 17, 2005 at Summerhill in Perry, Georgia.
Graveside Services will be held 11 AM, Friday, January 20, 2006 at Evergreen Cemetery, with Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Eulogy will be given by Lois McCord. The family will greet friends after the service.
Mrs. Bowers was born January 4, 1918 in Dougherty County, Georgia, to the late William Arthur and Sarah Graham Stokes. Mrs. Bowers lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. She was former owner/operator of Anne Bowers School of Dance, where she taught dance for over 35 years. Mrs. Bowers was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Samuel B. Bowers, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law: Samuel B., III and Mary Ann Bowers of Perry; daughter and son-in-law: Sally and Randy Rodgers of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Natalie Lollis of Perry, Jeff Norris of Atlanta, Sonya Dykes of Vidalia, Catherine Cook of Douglas, Stephen Norris of Athens, Marcy Rodgers of Flowery Branch, Samuel “Bo” Bowers-Haugabook of Montezuma, Sam Rodgers and Stokes Rodgers, both of Fitzgerald; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
