Obituary


Frances Fiorello, age 89, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully at the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Wakefield, September 5, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Fiorello. Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late Assunta Ranauro.

"Franny" as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was raised and educated in Boston's North End. Shortly following her marriage to her beloved husband Joseph they settled in Woburn where together they raised their daughter and son. Franny worked for many years with several different companies most notably the former Gene Allen Company of Boston, Woodcraft Supplies of Woburn and Festive Occasions of Woburn. However, Franny's main focus was always her family. She was a talented cook and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by her family and preparing a delicious meal for all to enjoy and she especially cherished her time caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends, swimming in her pool, dancing, camping, vacationing and traveling with family to Florida and the Bahamas. Fanny enjoyed socializing with others and will fondly be remembered for outgoing personality and ability to make people laugh.

Franny is survived by her children; Deborah Sahrbeck and her late husband Alan, of Woburn, Anthony "Tony Pizza" Fiorello and his wife Joanne, of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Joseph Fiorello, Jannell Evans and her husband Derek, Anthony Fiorello Jr., and Carla Sahrbeck. Loving great grandmother of Sophia Evans, Connor Evans and Joseph Fiorello Jr. She is also survived by many loving cousins, extended family and her beloved pet cats, Frankie and Susie.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, September 11th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Franny's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
