Harriet Helen (Moody) Crawford, of Stonington, died Wednesday at The Westerly Hospital after a brief illness. She was 80.
Harriet was born in Cambridge, MA on December 8, 1925 the daughter of John H. and Theresa (Hughes) Moody.
A professional caregiver, she devoted her career to providing personal companionship and care. In her later years, she enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A faithful Catholic, Harriet was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Stonington.
She is survived by her children, Pamela C. Gentile of Mystic, Donald M. Crawford of Pawcatuck, and Brenda Peckham of Ledyard; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and her extended family, Stacey & Tony Cassata and their daughters. She was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Lalor and Dorothy McCulloch.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Stonington on Wednesday at 10am. There are no visiting hours. Donations in her memory may be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, PO Box 91888, Washington, DC 20077-7165.
