Myrtle Mae Carter Daniel, age 89, of Red Oak, Va passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019. She was born July 3, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, Va and was the daughter of the late Benjamin W. Carter and the late Bessie Mae Spraggins Carter.
She was a member of Public Fork Christian Church in Red Oak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Daniel, Sr.; one son, Charles E. Daniel; two daughters, Adele D. Upton and Sue D. Newcomb; one great-grandson; three brothers, James H. Carter, Roy Carter, and Andrew Allgood; and two sisters, Virginia C. Thompson and Betty C. Currin.
Myrtle is survived by two sons, George L. Daniels, Jr. and wife, Debra of Midlothian, Va and Michael Daniel of Red Oak, Va; and three daughters, Deborah D. Reynolds and husband, Marty of Drakes Branch, Va, JoAnne Daniel of Red Oak, Va and Jackie Daniel of Red Oak, Va. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pam Price and husband, Ronald, Daphne Price, Jeff Daniels and wife, Kelly, Carrie Mick and husband, Thomas, Matt Newcomb and wife, Nicole, and Corey Daniel; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in South Hill, Va. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and all other times at Michael Daniel’s Residence, 1414 JEB Stuart Hwy, Red Oak, Va 23964.
