Obituary




Worcester – Wayne G. Brady (Horse), 83, of Worcester passed away on Saturday, August 31st in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after an illness surrounded by his family.
Mr. Brady is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Eleanore L. (Viens) Brady, who died in January 2019. Wayne is survived by his children, Nancy, Pattie and her husband Danny, Scott and his wife Tina, Sue and her husband Eric, Kay and her husband Peter; his eight grandchildren: Andrea, Sarah, Anthony, Justin, Sam, Kyle, Gracie and Maxwell and many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Brady was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis J. and Lillian E. (Berg) Brady and is also predeceased by a sister, Audrey. Wayne graduated from Saint Stephen’s High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He worked for 41 years with the former Massachusetts Electric Company as a lineman and retired in 1997. He also tended bar at the former Holiday Inn, downtown Worcester for many years. He was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Church and was an avid coin and train collector. Wayne enjoyed fishing on Wallum Lake, taking trips to the casino, doing puzzles and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. Mr. Brady was always doing something around the house or fixing something for his family, sitting still was not an option for Wayne.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 6th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church 5 Spaulding St. Burial will follow with military honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
