TEWKSBURY: Mary T. (Cullen) Browne, age 78, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.
She was the wife of Walter C. Browne, who died June 8, 1983.
Born in Medford on August 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sara (Quigley) Cullen.
Mrs. Browne was raised in Medford.
She attended Medford schools and graduated from Medford High School in 1945.
Mrs. Browne resided in North Tewksbury for many years until moving to Tewksbury’s Carnation Drive Housing Community in 1997.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church of Tewksbury. Mrs. Browne previously attended St. Robert Bellarmine Church of West Andover
Mrs. Browne was an active volunteer and supporter of the Retarded Adult Rehabilitative Association (R.A.R.A.) of Lowell. In addition, she previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Lowell.
She is survived by one daughter; Barbara A. Browne of Tewksbury; three sons; David C. Browne and his wife Camille of Startford, NH, Peter J. Browne of Lowell and James M. Browne of Tewksbury; two grandsons: Matthew Browne of Port Richey, FL and Ian Browne of Palm Harbor, FL.
Mrs. Browne was the sister of the late Edward Cullen, formerly of Reading.
Calling hours Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. A prayer service will be offered, Friday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to R.A.R.A., 295 High St., Lowell, MA 01852 or to Goodwill Industries, 1705 Middlesex St., Lowell, MA 01851 are requested.
