ELIZABETH Q. "BETSEY" (DUNN) CROKER, a lifelong Hingham resident, died on Monday, Jan. 16th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 63. Born in Hingham, Mrs. Croker was a 1960 graduate of Hingham High School. For many years she was a dental assistant to Dr. Ross Vroom in Hingham. She was then a longtime employee of Talbot's of Hingham before becoming a home health aide several years ago. Mrs. Croker enjoyed her family and friends, especially the annual family reunion held in Gilford, New Hampshire every August.
She leaves her husband, Mark H. Croker of Hingham, and sisters Mary E. Souther and Anne Durant both of Hingham and Carole R. Pyne of Blue Bell, PA. Mrs. Croker is also survived by her sister in law, Carol Dunn of Matthews, NC, 25 nieces and nephews, and 60 grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late J. Robert Dunn and the late Clare F. Bigelow.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 20th at 10 AM at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
The interment is to be private following cremation.
