Of St. Paul’s Monastery
Died on August 17, 2019 at St. Paul’s Monastery having lived and ministered as a Benedictine Sister for 67 years. After her first vows in 1952, Sister LaVerne taught at St. Anne’s in Minneapolis, Holy Redeemer in Montgomery and Immaculate Heart of Mary in St. Paul. She served as principal at Assumption in Richfield and Sacred Heart in Robbinsdale. She also served in the parish of Christ the King in Minneapolis. Sister LaVerne also worked at the Health Sciences University Library in Bloomington. She is survived by her sisters, Claudette, SSND and Marlene (Yarusso); many nieces and nephews; and her Benedictine Sisters, Oblates and Associates of St. Paul’s Monastery. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 24, 10:00 AM at ST. PAUL'S MONASTERY, 2675 Benet Road, Maplewood, MN. Visitation Friday, August 23, 4-6:30 PM and one hour prior to Mass. Memorials preferred to St. Paul’s Monastery.
