Obituary

Richard C. Bradbury, 56, of Londonderry, NH, died Monday, January 16, 2006 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Mr. Bradbury was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on November 9, 1949, a son of the late Harry and Helen (Taylor) Bradbury. He was a resident of Londonderry since 1986, formerly living in Randolph, MA. Mr. Bradbury received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of CT, Storrs and his Masters Degree in Engineering Management from Northeastern University. He worked for STV Group as an Engineering Project Manager with the Big Dig in Boston, MA, retiring in 2000. He loved camping and hiking, having climbed Mt. Washington and Mt. Monadnock. He also enjoyed traveling, and following his diagnosis with multiple myeloma he traveled to London and Paris with his three daughters, who were the highlight of his life. He had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed British comedies like Monty Python and Fawlty Towers. He enjoyed gardening, painting and visiting art museums.

He is survived by his wife, Carol L. (Larson) Bradbury of Londonderry, three daughters, Stephanie Pickering and her husband Gary of Bayside, NY, Christine Bradbury of Dover, NH, Ashley Bradbury of Londonderry, a brother, Robert Bradbury of San Diego, CA, and a sister, Elizabeth Hamilton of Bluffton, SC. He is also survived by his cat and faithful companion, Christmas Star.

Following cremation, calling hours were held Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 6-8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A memorial service followed at 8:00pm.
