Betty Meadows Williams, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, August 17, 2019, at her daughter’s residence in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, August 19, 2019, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Ike Thomas officiating.
Mrs. Williams was born December 20, 1929, in Macon, Georgia, the only child of the late Marcy & Maggie Pettis Meadows. She graduated high school in Irwin County and lived all of her life in Ocilla and Fitzgerald. She was a homemaker and a devoted farm wife. Mrs. Williams loved working in her yard and took great pride in keeping a well-manicured lawn. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church where she was active in her UMW Circle.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary W. Carne of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Caree & Josef Freeman and Chad Carne, all of Fitzgerald; and her great-grandchildren: Brady Thomas, Carter Thomas, and Colt Carne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Williams.
