Deborah M. (Raposa) Sousa, 59, of New Bedford died on August 15, 2019 unexpectedly and after a brief illness at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born and raised in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Manuel P. Rapoza and Julieta Camara.
Deborah loved going to concerts, listening to music, spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being by the ocean, drinking iced coffee and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Grillo and her husband Tony of New London, CT; her grandchildren, Antonio Grillo Jr. and Liliana Grillo, both of New London; a nephew, Ryan Rapoza of New Bedford; and her step-sister, Maria Ferreira of New Bedford.
She is predeceased by her brother Ray Rapoza, her sister Theresa Ferreira, and her half-brother Manny Rapoza.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday August 24, 2019 at 9AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 23, 2019 from 6-8 PM.
