Obituary



WORCESTER – Edward F. Bedard, 91, of Worcester died Sunday, January 15 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his devoted wife of 66 years, Constance (Waitkus) Bedard; four daughters Christine A. Everest of Marblehead, Carita M. Fontaine and Constance R. Kelly both of Worcester and Donna A. Gilbert of Palmer; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bedard is predeceased by a daughter Cynthia Bedard who died in 2002 and four sisters Louise Devine, Rose Devine, Leona S. Johnson and Jeanette Hebenstreir. Mr. Bedard was born in Worcester son of Leonidas and Amelia (Lavallee) Bedard.

Mr. Bedard worked for Lodding Engineering Corporation as a factory manager for over 33 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, St. Vincent de Paul, A.R.C. Program at the Seven Hill Foundation and the Society of Advancement of Management. He attended Worcester Junior College, Holy Cross School of Industrial Relations and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Bedard had numerous achievements in bowling. He won an off shore fishing tournament and got two holes in one at age 80 and 81. Mr. Bedard taught his wife of 66 years to sing and dance.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 19 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 18 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
