Mr. William Wayne Meyer, beloved husband of Joy Meyer, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Fleming Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark White officiating and Lorie Newman as special speaker. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Walker Family Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was a graduate of T.W. Josey, where he earned All State honors for the violin. His musical skills secured him scholarships to Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. He was a member of Fleming Baptist Church, where he played with the praise group, and retired from Augusta Newsprint after 30 years.
In addition to his wife, Joy, he is survived by his children; Patrick and Christina Meyer, his mother; Margie Ann Rossignol Meyer, his brothers; Charles Meyer (Amy)and Miller Meyer, Jr. and a daughter in Christ; Jennifer Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father; Samuel Miller Meyer Sr.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Kirkendohl, Kevin Stewart, John Hankinson, Randy Pilkinton, Richard Day, and Kyle Shell. Honorary pallbearer is Bobby McKinney.
